Online Payment Portal Unavailable Due to Network Interruption
(May 7, 2024) Change Healthcare/Optum, a UnitedHealth Group subsidiary, suffered a cyberattack on its claims and payment infrastructure, which handles 50 percent of all medical claims in the U.S. York Hospital is among tens of thousands of physicians, dentists, pharmacies, and hospitals impacted by the outage. Change Healthcare supports all aspects of patient billing for York Hospital, including our online payment portal.
While UnitedHealth Group is making progress in mitigating the impact on consumers and care providers, there are still service delays. York Hospital is working diligently to restore online payment services. For the latest updates, visit UnitedHealth Group’s Change Healthcare Cyber Response page.
(February 26, 2024) York Hospital was informed late last week that Change Healthcare is experiencing a network interruption related to a cyber security issue. Change Healthcare’s security experts are working to address this matter. Change Healthcare is widely used to connect web-based payment solutions like the one York Hospital uses. Because of this, York Hospital patients are not currently able to use the Web portal to submit payments. The Change Healthcare incident occurred outside of York Hospital’s environment and, based on our analysis, did not directly impact patient data.
We are uncertain as to how long this outage is expected to last, but we are actively monitoring the situation and will provide additional updates. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions, please call York Hospital at (207) 351-2398 for more information.
